About
The music industry has seen recording facilities go from the sole province of record labels to home studios as part of a lifestyle.
One thing remains constant; no one makes commercially viable recordings on budget equipment.
With the considerable expense and highly specialised knowledge and construction skills required to build a professional studio, a sound that’s competitive with major studios and big-budget project studios remains out of reach for all but a select few—until Noatune.
By providing affordable monthly access to world-class equipment and acoustically treated rooms, Noatune levels the playing field for aspiring musicians and producers.

Our Story
- Our Story -
With the goal of enabling London-based musicians to not only realise their creative aspirations, but also become part of a vital artistic community, Kristoffer Rylander chose Hackney’s Netil building to be the home of Noatune Studios in 2016.
Subsequently, Kris partnered with seasoned engineers Luca Capacchione and Marcel van Limbeek (Tori Amos, Melanie C etc.), who’ve been instrumental in stocking Noatune’s mic locker with the best vintage and modern microphones, as well as integrating analogue hardware into our mix and mastering workflows.
The hybrid analogue/digital approach to tracking and mixing adds a warmth and depth to music that otherwise can’t achieved.

Beautiful interiors in a creative atmosphere
Creativity, inspiration and a compelling performance all require physical comfort as well as an enjoyable atmosphere to flow unhindered.
Our studios all feature an open and airy modern Scandinavian look and feel, comfortable furniture, adjustable multi-color mood lighting, and quiet air conditioning.
Workflow Flexibility and Versatility
While each studio at Noatune is designed and equipped with a particular focus in mind, flexibility is also emphasised to accommodate the fluid process of music production.
With the ease of the popular Universal Audio Apollo Interfaces, laptop users can take control straight from the get go.
World-class Gear and Precision acoustics
Our studios are acoustically calculated to capture high-quality recordings effortlessly.
Record exceptional vocals through a ‘79 Neumann U87 into a Neve 1073 with a real Tube Tech CL 1B, just one of many popular vocal-chain combos, with many other famous mics and outboard gear at your disposal.
Why “Noatune”?
- Why Noatune? -
In Norse mythology, Noatun (Nóatún) is the name of a house on the seashore in Asgard where Njörðr, god of the wind, seafarers, coasts, inland waters, and wealth resides.
Nóatún is described in the Prose Eddabook Gylfaginning as located "in heaven”.
As a nod to his heritage, Kris appropriately named the studio “Noatune”, his little slice of musical heaven in London.
